Tenant Code of Conduct

The most important rules in brief

As a tenant, always keep these rules in mind. This will make the rental process smoother, clearer, and safer for both parties.

Fuel

Fuel

You always pick up the car with a full tank, and you must return it with a full tank at the end of the rental—it's that simple! When refueling, make sure to check which type of fuel the car uses.

Parking

Parking

You handle it as if it were your own car. Always start parking sessions according to the relevant zone. Traditional car rentals do not include free parking like car sharing does!

Toll road section

Toll road section

The advertisement always specifies which road sections the car has a valid toll vignette for. If you use any other toll road sections, you must purchase a vignette for the car and later show the receipt to the rental company.

Cleanliness

Cleanliness

Keep your car clean. If you transport something that leaves a mess, or if you make a mess yourself, you may be charged extra or receive a negative review.

Pet

Pet

Check the listing for permissions. Some cars have a seat-cover film in the glove compartment for transporting pets.

Penalties

Penalties

You are responsible for following the rules of the road. If you speed or park illegally, the authorities will contact you based on the rental agreement.

Injuries

Injuries

If you scrape the car or damage the bodywork, notify the rental company. The damage can easily be traced back to whoever caused it based on the photos’ metadata, so even if the damage isn’t visible in your photo because you take it from a certain angle, it will still come to light later. It’s better to report it sooner.

Accident

Accident

If anyone has been injured, please contact the emergency services immediately! If, fortunately, no one has been injured and you have been able to agree with the other party involved in the accident on who was at fault, please fill out the “blue-yellow” accident report form at the scene. You can find it in the glove compartment. Be sure to document the accident with photographs, then send the photos and the documents required to process the claim to the rental company’s email address.

Insurance

Insurance

The type of insurance is always stated in the listing. If the car is damaged, notify the rental provider immediately. We will inspect the reported damage and then request a quote for the repair costs. We will forward the quote to you, and if you are liable for the damage, you will have to cover the full cost of the repairs. If you rented a car with comprehensive insurance, you are liable for costs up to the amount of the deductible.

Border crossing

Border crossing

You will need the insurance green card and proof of border crossing. You will receive both automatically by email before you set off, provided you indicated when booking that you would be traveling abroad.

Mileage limit

Mileage limit

The mileage included in the rental price is always listed in the advertisement. If you think you’ll exceed it, you can discuss this flexibly with the lessor. If you don’t let them know in advance, you may be charged an extra fee at the end of the rental.

Extension

Extension

You can extend the rental through the rentben app or by arranging it over the phone, provided the car is still available at that time.

Delay

Delay

If you don’t notify us in advance that you’ll be late, it causes inconvenience for both the next user and the rental provider.

Cash

Cash

Since the Qber system is contactless, we do not recommend the cash payment option.

Police identity check

Police identity check

You’ll find the vehicle registration certificate in the glove compartment, and you’ll always receive the rental agreement by email after check-in.

Another driver

Another driver

If more than one driver will be driving the vehicle during the rental, you can let the rental provider know, but the person who signed the contract is always responsible for the car.

Technical problem

Technical problem

Unfortunately, this can happen at any time, even with cars in good condition. If the car breaks down or gets a flat tire, notify the rental company. Qber works with a number of on-demand service providers who can head to the scene almost immediately and help resolve the issue.

Please indicate when booking if you require a VAT invoice.
